Review by Mari Devold

The Wanderer, the eleventh studio album by Aerosmith, is a solid effort that showcases the band's range and musical prowess. Released in 1981, the album features some of Aerosmith's most popular songs, including "Walk This Way," "Back in the Saddle," and "Last Child."

The album opens with the title track, "The Wanderer," a bluesy number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. From there, the band takes listeners on a journey through a variety of musical styles, from the hard-driving rock of "Back in the Saddle" to the funky groove of "Combination."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Walk This Way," a collaboration with rap group Run-DMC that helped to bridge the gap between rock and hip-hop. The song's infectious beat and catchy chorus make it an instant classic that still holds up today.

Other highlights include "Last Child," a bluesy rocker with a killer guitar riff, and "Nobody's Fault," a heavy metal track with a dark, ominous feel. Throughout the album, the band's musicianship is on full display, with Joe Perry's guitar work and Steven Tyler's vocals standing out in particular.

I've got one question. How in the world did Mr.Peach capture the show in such quality, what exactly had he done to get such a quality recording? This sounds a lot, a lot better than audience recordings from this tour. There isn't basically any audience noise except between songs, but even that noise sounds like it comes from the entire venue rather than a few folks around the recording equipment. Was this recorded off the PA system? I've listened to all the broadcasts from 1978 and they got the same quality as this show. I can even say that it sounds as good as the IEM recordings from the 2011 Japan tour which is 34 years later. If someone knows the details, please reply.

What happened to the classic “Saddle opener?” That was the usual opening tune for many of these ‘77 shows.

While my parents were on vacation in Spain my sister was watching me and she was very watchful over me but her boyfriend was getting tickets for some band called Aerosmith. I was 10 years old and into sports 24/7. Especially the Baltimore Orioles I had autographs from just about the entire team including Earl Weaver Jim Palmer Mark Belanger Brooks Robinson Paul Blair and many more. My grandfather was a Orioles nut never missed a game and took me to see the Orioles more times than I can remember. Boog Powell was my uncle's cousin so I did have connections in a way but anyway my sister's boyfriend got me a ticket to go see this band called Aerosmith. I'd heard of them but never listened to them. Anyway my sister's boyfriend privately introduced me to the finer things of life without letting my sister knowing, until she saw the smoke coming out of my mouth after doing about 5 bong hits. She said not to ever do that again. She never smoked weed and broke up with her then boyfriend the next day. After that Aerosmith show I knew that Aerosmith was the best rock and roll band in the world. That was 1975 at the Capitol Center. And I was right because their still the best rock and roll band in the world. Last count I'd seen these guys 9 times one show didn't count though. My so called friend dropped 2 luds in my beer on the way to the show. He was in the backseat of my buddies 72 Oldsmobile handing beer up to me in the front seat. I remember my buddy that was driving saying that we were almost to the show. Hampton Roads Colosseum. I don't remember anything after that except coming through the Bay Bridge Tunnel on the way home. But anyway I play Aerosmith loud and proud even today.

Steven is singing surprisingly well in this concert. Normally he would be too wasted to even resemble a singer.

Think Classics live was the 3rd Aero cd I bought, they were hard to find in Australia the pre Pump albums. Hearing Train and Thighs for the first time I was blown away. Upon hearing GYW for the first time I was disappointed that the recording didn't do those tracks justice, still great songs but that album version of Thighs is so vanilla. Steven missed a verse on Write Me here but they just repeated the bar and he sung it the second time. This sounds pretty freaking good great upload.
Steven in poor voice.
still..Aerosmith in all their late-70's hot-mess glory.....
