Review by Sebastian Hallum Clarke

Big Country's 2013 album, The Crossing El Cruce, is a beautiful blend of traditional Scottish folk music and rock. The album features a mix of original songs and covers, all with a distinct Big Country sound.

The opening track, "In a Big Country," sets the tone for the album with its upbeat guitar riffs and catchy chorus. The band's cover of "Fields of Fire" is a standout, with lead vocalist Mike Peters' vocals soaring over the driving rhythm section.

The album also features several slower, more introspective tracks, such as "The Storm" and "Porrohman." These songs showcase the band's ability to create a powerful emotional connection with their music.

Sitting around $190/mo apartment while in college. Unwrapped this album. Put in on the dual turntable. Just perfection. Sounds even better now at 60.

A stupidly long intro, for a song that doesn't know where its going until it doesn't really go anywhere, and I f*cking love every second of it.

A truly great, 1980's album. I had the casette tape, which I used to play in my first car. I still play it from time to time and it never fails to take me back to that time.
