I really have to add this statement before it's too late.

Quik is a Beast. This might be the truest form of what he really is about. In my mind , he is the alpha and omega of Hip-Hop. This beat is straight up New York vibe alà 1992-1993, make no mistake about it. And any other MC would make the flow and rhyme go exactly with the beat. And that is going on with the three first verses. Honestly, they are ok to good, but not brilliant. That is until Quik just set it off on the fourth, the verse just skyrocket in quality immediately. A true Compton native slaying it to a New York beat as good as the best at the time (Kool G Rap, Rakim, Kane, KRS) and looking G as fuck doing it. And without any cussing. That is genius personified. I have nothing but huge respect for this man.

As Hip-Hop artistry as a whole, he just can't be touched. Cold187um is close, but I just find Quik on another level from everyone else. Whyyyyyy didn't ATL and DJ Quik cross paths?! That is truly one of the biggest mysteries of The Golden Era.

DJ Quik was bald and was dealing with his struggles here in 1993, DJ Quik scrapped his third album and Profile Records suspended him badly
