Review by Valorie Zimmerman

Lynn Hope's album Tenderly is a mesmerizing collection of smooth jazz tunes that showcase the talent and versatility of this gifted saxophonist. From the opening track, "Tenderly," to the closing number, "My Reverie," the album takes listeners on a journey through a range of moods and emotions.

Hope's playing is consistently impressive and soulful, whether he's delivering a sultry ballad like "Body and Soul" or a more upbeat number like "Blues for Anna." His phrasing is impeccable, and he has a way of making each note sing with feeling and expression.

The backing band on Tenderly is also top-notch, providing just the right accompaniment to Hope's saxophone. The piano work in particular stands out, adding a richness and depth to many of the tracks.

Lynn Hope was one of the greatest rhythm&jazz saxophonists of the 1950 era. This was his greatest hit. I always wanted to meet him, alas he died in 1992 - I also loved the aspect that he was a great family man and very disciplined (much like the swing bandleader Jimmie Lunceford) - Rest In Power
This is my Grandfather! I am honored to be able to hear his music! Thank You!

Lynn Hope's tenor tone and the way he caressingly spins out the phrases is just magical!
