About News

Danish 80's to 90's poprock band. Originally founded by in 1979 as Aske Jacoby Band the band later changed the name to News. After recording two albums "Stereo Magasin" in 1981 and "Sæt Sejl" in 1982, Aske Jacoby and frontsinger left the group. Gitte Naur was replaced by who in 1988 was replaced by . The group disbanded in 1994 after being a major part of what is often referred to as a golden age for danish languaged "innocent" pop, from the mid 80's to early 90's. Members: Gitte Naur (vokal) (1981-1983), Aske Jakoby (guitar) (1981-1983) , Jakob Vejslev (guitar) (1981-1982), Jette Schandorf (bass), Peter Biker (drums and keyboards), Martin Nordborg (keyboards) (1981-1987), Søs Fenger (vokal) (1983-1987), Jørgen Rygaard (guitar) (1983-1989), Nadia Stein (vokal) (1988).
